My name is Christopher Fisher, M.A. I have master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and I am currently a 4th year doctoral student in Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine at the University of North Texas. My doctoral program is somewhat unique in its multidisciplinary approach. In addition to traditional clinical psychology courses, students in our program study health psychology, pharmacology, physiology, applied behavioral analysis, and even biofeedback. I chose to further specialize in neurofeedback (“EEG Biofeedback” or “Neurotherapy”), Cranial Electrical Stimulation (“CES”), and quantitative EEG (“QEEG” or “brainmapping”).
I am very excited about psychology and its behavioral-based treatments, as well as “alternative” treatments such as neurofeedback and CES. I hope to write about new, interesting, and informative developments from the world of psychology, neuroscience, medicine, and biofeedback in this Behavioral Medicine Blog. There is a strong emphasis on empirically validated information. I will do my best to discuss these sometimes complex topics using simple language whenever possible; after all, this blog is pointless if readers cannot follow the discussion. Enjoy!
